Port Hope has two beautiful sandy beaches along the Lake Ontario shoreline. They're great for spending time in the water or just relaxing in the sun.
Sandy beaches on the lakeshore - great swimming, boating and stand up paddle boarding
Port Hope locals appreciate the laidback coastal lifestyle by the water. Come enjoy our two sandy beaches, the West Beach and East Beach, both steps to downtown shopping and dining. Both beaches are uncrowded spots with play structures, places to picnic and waves. The West Beach has the best stones for skipping, and the East Beach has a sandy bottom for swimming and building sandcastles with the kids.
Our beaches are great for fun in the water! Bring your floating devices, kayaks and canoes. Water readings are completed weekly and posted for your handy reference. Play safe! The beaches are not lifeguarded, so use at your own risk and supervise the kids. Lifejackets are recommended for boating and dogs must be on a leash at all times. We've got lots of ideas for family fun in Port Hope!
