We like to show off our artsy side! Port Hope festivals connect makers to the community and celebrate their creativity and craftsmanship.
Creativity and local goodness in Memorial Park
Port Hope likes a party, so consider yourself invited. Downtown Memorial Park is a picturesque setting for the Port Hope Arts Festival every August. The historic Farmers Market behind Town Hall spills over to the park to create an arts marketplace and family fun event. There's crafting, food and live music in the bandshell.
In September, our farmers are busy with the harvest and ready to share the fresh picks. Growers, chefs and artists showcase their best in Memorial Park for the annual Cultivate Festival. Eat, drink and dance in the grass to the amazing lineup of musicians that attracts visitors from far and away.
Port Hope artists open their home studios
And come get inspired at the home studios of local artists when they open their doors every September for the Northumberland Hills Studio Tour. Take home a spectacular, one-of-a-kind piece
Films and popcorn at the Capitol Theatre
The Capitol Theatre sets the audience in a medieval courtyard under a starry sky – a cool venue for screenings of the Metropolitan Opera productions and the Vintage Film Festival in September.
Our small town beauty and heritage architecture make us popular for TV and film shoots like the Stephen King horror IT films. You can take a selfie tour of IT local film spots.
Close to Home, Far from Ordinary
