Municipality of Port Hope, Terms and Eligibility to EnterThe Free Lunch Contest is hosted by Municipality of Port Hope, Economic Development, on behalf of Tourism Marketing and is open to all residents and visitors to Port Hope, with the exception of employees of the municipality of Port Hope (see Prizes and Awarding). The contest period will open on Monday, July 15th and close on Thursday, August 15th, 2024. All entries must be returned by final close date of Thursday, August 15th at 23:59:59 (EDT) in order to be eligible for prize draw. Entries become the property of the Municipality of Port Hope and will not be returned or acknowledged. No purchase is necessary or required to enter and to win. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate. How to enter the contestEligible individuals may enter online at visitporthope.ca/free-lunch where they will be asked to reply with a small amount of information by which we can identify and potentially contact them if selected. They will also be asked to select two choices as to which Port Hope establishment they would like to enjoy their free lunch. Prizes and AwardingA prize of a free lunch voucher valued at $30 will be sent to the winner(s) to use at ideally their selected establishment. Winners will be announced beginning on Monday, August 19. Any entry that is deemed offensive, distasteful or inappropriate will be disqualified and not accepted into the contest.Following the end of the Contest Period, the Economic Development division staff will select one (1) entrant for each establishment chosen for lunch who will be deemed the winner. These selections will be based on a computer-based random selection software. The prize is non-transferable, is not redeemable for cash, and must be accepted as awarded. The voucher cannot be used for the cost/ purchase of alcohol. By entering the contest, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and the decisions of the Planning and Development Department, Economic Development Division. Qualifying winners will be notified shortly after the close of the contest period by phone and/or email to advise that they have been selected as a winner and to determine their choice of the establishment they wish to visit for their free lunch. An electronic voucher will be provided to the winner, with their selection noted. The establishment will also be notified. When making their reservation, as may be needed, the winners will advise that they are a Port Hope Free Lunch contest winner. Winners will be able to redeem their prize from the confirmed establishment five (5) business days after a confirmation has been received from the establishment. If neither of their choices are available at the time of their selection, they will be apprised to visit the Tourism website and select another establishment from those remaining on the list. Vouchers will not be exchanged and once awarded, selections cannot be modified. The order of the winners contacted and subsequently their selection, will be based on the time of receipt of their entry into the contest. Employees of the Municipality of Port Hope are not eligible to enter the contest. If the selected entrant does not respond within seven (7) business days of notification, he/she will be deemed no longer eligible and will not receive a prize and another entrant may be selected. Limitation of LiabilityBy participating, entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Municipality of Port Hope, and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, and co-Municipality of Port Hope’s, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest or any contest related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any credit awarded hereunder. By entering this contest, participants accept that the Municipality of Port Hope may use their entries (where applicable) in their promotions and website. Participation in this contest and acceptance of the prize constitute the winner’s permission for the Municipality of Port Hope to use their names, photographs, biographical information, and/or any statements made by each winner regarding the contest without notice of additional compensation. Right to cancel or suspend contestIf for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, due to infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Municipality of Port Hope, that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, the Municipality of Port Hope reserves the right to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest. This contest complies with all Canadian laws. This contest is operated and administered by the Municipality of Port Hope. Cannot be combined with any other offer. |
